Volunteers
The Burlington Public Library is not currently accepting applications for new adult volunteer positions. Adults wishing to give back to their community by supporting the library are asked to reach out to the Friends of the Burlington Public Library, a non-profit group that supports the library through fundraising and sponsoring programs.
Teen Volunteers
Teen Volunteers work directly with the Youth Services staff and are particularly valued in the summer months to assist with summer reading programs for children. Volunteers in grades 6 through 12 are considered Teen Volunteers and serve through the Young Adult volunteer program.
Volunteer Procedures
- Adult volunteers, including those volunteering for the Friends of the Burlington Public Library, must fill out a volunteer application form (PDF).
- Volunteers age 18 or older must have a successful Massachusetts Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) background check, done by the Town of Burlington. Paperwork to initiate that can be filled out at the time of the interview. Specifics of an applicant's criminal record will be treated confidentially.
For questions on the CORI or other volunteer information please Email the Assistant Director, Cara Enos, or call 781-505-4985.
