These resources are free with your library card:

  • NoveList Plus - Search for information about books by author, title, genre, series, or by describing a plot. Find author readalikes, books in series, book discussion guides, lists of award winners, narrative nonfiction and more!
  • Literature Databases - Three databases with literature content including everything from biographies of writers to literary criticism.
  • O'Reilly - Access digital collection of technical books covering Java, Web development, certification, project management, enterprise computing, operating systems, networking and more. Accessible in-library or from home with a Burlington Public Library card.

New & Popular Books

  • Indie Bestsellers - A weekly list of best sellers from a survey of independent booksellers nationwide hosted by Indie Bound.
  • Nancy Pearl's website - Librarian, author, and NPR commentator Nancy Pearl offers up great reads.
  • New York Times: Books - Bestseller lists, book reviews dating back to 1981, links to blogs, author and critic interviews, and podcasts.
  • Publisher's Weekly Best Sellers - The current best sellers can be accessed by clicking the links in the left navigation bar. Included are fiction, nonfiction, children's, and audiobooks.
  • Suggested Reads - USA Today - USA TODAY's best selling books list ranks the 150 top-selling titles each week based on an analysis of sales from U.S. booksellers.

  • Goodreads - A social networking site for readers: record, rate and share what you've been reading; find out what your friends are reading.
  • Library Thing - "The World's Largest Book Club." Keep track of what you've read, write reviews, and connect with other readers.
